INSTEP London Semester Program

Spend a semester in London studying political science, law, business, or communications/media. While studying in London you could also intern in any of these four academic concentrations. The INSTEP London program is designed to integrate the study of these disciplines and to combine internship experience with specially related coursework. During the semester, you must register for a full credit load which allows you to choose between registering for five seminars or three seminars and an internship. Either way, you will receive 15 semester credits after successfully completing the semester.

Internships are available in the fields of politics, law, business, and communications/media. If you decide to intern, you will enroll for the internship as well as three of the above seminars, one of which will be the required seminar for interns - Ethics in Action. You will be expected to intern for a maximum of 20 hours per week as well as keep up with your coursework so you should prepare for a considerable time commitment. Recent internships that have been completed in London include placements with political think tanks, lobbying groups, in solicitors’ offices, and in the headquarters of the major political parties.
